Meet TaVanni (TV) Singleton

Founder of LiveTV Events
With over 20 years of experience in various roles across a diverse range of industries, TaVanni has honed her administrative, event planning, marketing and management skills. From her early days as the president of a student organization at the University of Minnesota to her role as Communications Director of an international fashion week in Shanghai, TaVanni has tackled a multitude of challenges and refined her skills in event planning, project management and marketing.

Her expertise lies in social events, but her journey began in the field of community health. As a Health Education student at the University of Minnesota (UMD), TaVanni became the two-time president-elect of UMD's Black Student Organization, where she successfully planned and executed a number of large-scale events while managing a team of peers. Along with faculty and staff at all levels throughout the university she also maintained a commitment to advocating for students. While work in the community health sector taught her the importance of education and changing behaviors through program planning using marketing and psychological techniques.

Immediately putting her organization skills to the test she became president elect of UMD’s Black Student Organization and gained a great experience in an academic setting collaborating with senior leadership. Here she planned and implemented big public events anticipated around the region. While managing a board of her peers she oversaw budget spending, planned and implemented several educational and fun events throughout the years for the school population and public. She also worked with faculty and staff at all levels through the university and advocated for students.

Graduation marked the beginning of an eclectic collection of projects and teams she worked with for the next several years from concerts from big name artists and the creation of a spokesmodel initiative with Potenza Entertainment to the community activities planed with Jackson Street Village Housing Complex. Soon after, she settled into The Melting Pot of MPLS doing events and marketing for the international brand who hosted in-house events as well as participated with huge organizations like St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

After several years, she took a break from sharing delicious fondue to move aboard to Bangkok, Thailand where a host of other event planning projects helped to add even more diversity to her skillset. Anything from hosting popular parties and sessions to working the art and eco-friendly themed Wonderfruit Music Festival. This love of creating fun and unique events for people to connect through continued as she relocated yet again to Shanghai, China where she spent 5 years perfecting the art of gathering. Several projects, highlighted in the Consulting/Collabs tab, brought her to develop skills in public relations, social media marketing, website design, media/press, copywriting and so much more as Communications Director of the first black fashion week in Asia: Shanghai Black Fashion Week. After two years of bringing the city high fashion events, she founded the social event company you see today in 2019, LiveTV Events. Named as play on her popular nickname, TV, she was often referred to while living in China. Here, her creativity was able to run wild as she created random, fun social events anywhere from DIY workshops and themed film screenings to huge collaborations with other event producers. Always popular, her events invited a mixed local and expat crowd to have fun together while learning from each other. Alas, the COVID pandemic, stopped growth for a while as she returned home to Minnesota, USA to be with family. But she was not able to stop her natural urge to organize and bring people together as she restarted LiveTV Events in America helping organizations like MN STEM Partnership with their annual awards ceremony, this time held virtually. Since the re-opening of the world, TaVanni has started new annual traditions in MN like the Earth Day Clothing Swap and, Twin Cities favorite, the Couples Massage Workshop. Always looking to bring something fresh, unique and fun to the masses, TaVanni and LiveTV Events continues to connect people through one-of-a-kind gatherings. And TaVanni remains ready to take on new challenges and explore more aspects of collaborations with all kinds of organizations the future may bring.
